Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for financial integrity and capital expenditure (CAPEX) accounting and reporting? Jetstar is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Control team and support our fast-paced, high-performing environment.
Reporting to the Financial Control Finance Manager, this role is primarily accountable for the preparation, delivery, and finalisation of tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements for the Jetstar business. Ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness in these critical reporting and payment obligations is the core focus of the position.
In addition to these responsibilities, the role provides financial control oversight of operating costs across Jetstar Australia & New Zealand, specifically in the following areas: Information Technology, Marketing, Digital, and Call Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurate and timely delivery of tax requirements across Australia and all foreign jurisdictions: FBT, GST, Withholding Tax, Consumption Tax, VAT Corporate Tax
- Accurate and timely delivery of financial statement requirements in Australia and wholly owned entities of the Jetstar Group.
- Supporting internal and external audits as required
- System administrator for various Finance processes to ensure compliance to policy e.g. Corporate Credit Cards, Financial Delegations, Online Banking and others as required
- Provide accurate and timely monthly reporting on operational costs including Group balance sheet reporting.
- Ensure result reflects commercial arrangements and comply with external reporting requirements.
- Work with FP&A in monitoring actual performance vs forecast/budget
- Providing audit support and partnering with internal/external stakeholders
- Reviewing outsourced provider outputs related to CAPEX
What you’ll bring:
- CA/CPA qualification with minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience
- ERP experience (Oracle, TM1, HFM) and advanced Excel skills
- Experience in working with international stakeholders, e.g. Jetstar finance team in Tokyo
- Strong technical accounting skills and tax compliance knowledge applying to the aviation sector
- Proven ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and commercial acumen
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and comfort working with ambiguity
