Job Description

As the Technical - Functional System Analyst in the Financial Systems Team your role will be to work with Finance, Project Managers, Business Analysts, the user community and other team members to support projects that are aligned with TAL strategy. This role is a 50/50 Technical/Functional split.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with TAL’s IT outsource company
  • Perform all tasks in the implementation cycle, including business process definition, configuration and unit testing, support of user acceptance testing and post-live support, whilst using the current change methodology (including appropriate segregation of duties in the life cycle process)
  • Maintain/ create finance systems operating procedures, protocols and process documentation
  • Identify potential improvements for TAL to accept with vendor initiated upgrade/patching.
  • Manage finance systems software upgrade/patching projects.
  • Triage, prioritise, and assign resource to address Finance Systems issues/ requests tickets

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of core finance modules: General ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Billing, Reporting
  • SQL skills
  • Debugging skills 
  • Robust understanding as to how the finance systems interface with other systems.
  • PeopleSoft V9 or higher / Oracle Cloud ERP / Hyperion / Oracle Cloud EPM
  • Hyperion knowledge of Financial Reporting Studio, SmartView, Calculcation Rules, EPMA
  • Concur
  • Reconciliation tools ie: NXG
  • Sound understanding of accounting/finance principles and practices.  Ideally will hold an Accounting degree or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of life insurance products
