Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
Job DescriptionReporting to the Head of Finance and Commercial and leading a small team, the Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial operations. This includes overseeing core finance functions such as financial reporting, accounts payable, invoicing, and working closely with the payroll team. The role ensures all financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time, with strong internal controls in place and ongoing compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
The role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports, in line with relevant accounting standards and contract requirements. Robust reporting frameworks will be maintained to monitor key contractual KPIs. You will ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and organisational policies, and work closely with other finance teams to coordinate annual audits and address any audit findings.
As a key point of contact for financial matters, you will deliver timely and accurate financial insights, clearly communicating performance and risk to support informed decision making across the business.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting, with CA or CPA membership (or equivalent). Naturally you will have demonstrated leadership experience in fostering a collaborative team culture, ensuring a coordinated approach to service delivery and support that is consistently role‑modelled.
You will bring solid experience and operational finance, strong knowledge of accounting and reporting requirements, and demonstrated capability using ERP systems (such as D365) and advanced Excel.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Experience working with government organisations or in regulated settings will be highly regarded.
