Group Strategy supports the Board and Executive Leadership Team in developing the Group’s strategy, and assessing changes in our external and internal environment to identify risks and opportunities that are of strategic significance to the Group.
Group Strategy supports the organisation’s response, including by supporting the annual planning process, development of a regulatory advocacy strategy, and, in some instances, developing initiatives to accelerate strategic objectives. It is also home to the Blockchain and Digital Assets team, which works to deeply understand these emerging technologies and leverage them to develop the next generation of financial solutions for CBA’s 15 million customers.
Do work that matters
This fast-paced, dynamic and rewarding EA opportunity will provide proactive, effective and efficient administrative support to the Executive General Manager, Group Strategy at Commbank. You will be required to pre-empt their needs on an ongoing basis, manage the EGM’s demanding schedule, and act as a key point of contact to ensure smooth day-to-day operations is met.
You will also provide administrative support to the GM, Group Strategy (direct report to the EGM).
This is a highly visible EA role and to be considered, you must be a commercially savvy Executive Assistant who currently supports senior levels.
Our EGM is looking for a true partnership where you’ll have the opportunity to provide administrative support directed to key agendas and decisions that support the strategic functions of the leadership team.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Diary & Email Management – Oversee a complex schedule, prioritising commitments and ensuring seamless daily operations, including helping your busy executive to manage the work-homelife juggle
Gatekeeping & Communication – Manage correspondence, filter requests, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
Meeting management – Prepare agendas, reports, presentations and arrange meeting room bookings
Team-building and event management – Arranging events/functions/offsites/team building events and helping to create a caring and supportive team culture
Stakeholder Management – Establish and maintain strong, effective, strategic and appropriate working relationships with EAs and other stakeholders. Act as a trusted liaison between the External and internal/external contacts.
Travel Coordination – Arrange detailed domestic and international travel itineraries
Risk management – Provide HR support and assist with recruitment requests, staff exits, onboarding / offboarding, and adhering to the Group’s policies and procedures
Manage expenses and budget for the Strategy team
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Previous Executive Assistant experience supporting at a senior level
A proactive working style with ability to pre-empt needs and take initiative to get things done
Exceptional attention to detail and conscientious work ethic
A high level of discretion and confidentiality
Ability to build relationships, is highly personable with excellent communication skills
Ability to manage workflow, priorities, work well under pressure and be flexible
High level of pragmatic professionalism – face to face, over the phone and through correspondence
A desire to play a central role in our Group Strategy team, both as a ‘keeper of team culture’ and an important facilitator of a caring and friendly work environment
Have experience helping senior executives navigate the juggle of work and home calendars
Your success will be governed by your experience working with fast-paced executives and understanding the need to pre-empt their needs on an ongoing basis. You will have experience with proactive diary management and stakeholder liaison, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills and a track record of understanding the unique needs of executives. Experience managing a very busy diary is vital.
