The Role

Join Crown Melbourne as our Events & Conferencing Compliance Manager, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant and seamless delivery of production operations across one of Australia's largest and most sophisticated events and conferencing destinations.

Reporting to the Production Operations & Services Manager, you will oversee compliance, operational logistics and risk management across Crown's Events & Conferencing venues. Working closely with internal stakeholders, event teams and external contractors, you will ensure all production activities are delivered in accordance with Crown standards, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

This pivotal role supports the successful delivery of a diverse range of corporate events, conferences, exhibitions and large-scale productions while helping protect Crown's people, assets and reputation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead compliance activities across Crown's Events & Conferencing venues, ensuring adherence to Crown policies, legislative requirements and industry standards.

  • Assess event rigging, temporary structures and production plans, identifying risks and implementing appropriate control measures.

  • Coordinate production logistics, including event bump-in and bump-out activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution.

  • Review and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and contractor documentation across multiple concurrent events.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure compliance requirements are understood and achieved.

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, permits to work and operational procedures.

  • Protect Crown assets and infrastructure through effective compliance oversight and operational governance.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes, operational safety and industry best practice.

In this role, you will:

You are an experienced events, production or technical operations professional with a strong understanding of compliance, risk management and workplace safety within complex event environments.

Highly organised and solutions-focused, you thrive in fast-paced operational settings and have a strong track record of ensuring events and productions are delivered safely and successfully.

You will also bring:

  • Extensive experience within the events, entertainment, production or conferencing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of event production operations, contractor management and compliance requirements.

  • Experience reviewing and implementing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and risk assessments.

  • Sound knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation and standards.

  • Working knowledge of technical production disciplines including rigging, lighting, audio and vision systems.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Qualifications in Production Management, Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline will be highly regarded. An Intermediate or Advanced Rigging Licence will also be advantageous.
