This is a pivotal opportunity to step into the role of Engineering Projects and Assurance Manager, where you will lead the development, implementation and assurance of engineering safety management standards across Hastings Deering operations.
Based at our Archerfield Head Office, this permanent Monday to Friday role places you at the forefront of engineering safety governance, process safety and project assurance - ensuring the safety of our people, property and the environment across diverse operations.
Reporting to our Manager – Safety Engineering, the successful incumbent will:
- Lead and maintain Hastings Deering Engineering Safety Management Standards across operations and projects
- Provide safety‑in‑design and technical engineering advice for capital projects and operational activities
- Deliver process safety assurance through auditing and compliance oversight
- Lead engineering safety projects across multiple sites, managing priorities and deliverables
- Implement the Safety Engineering Strategy, including systems, verification and critical controls
- Oversee incident investigations to ensure robust engineering and process safety solutions
- Engage with regulators, industry bodies and key internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce organisational risk
Experience Required:
- Minimum tertiary level qualifications in health, safety and environment or engineering related discipline OR trade with 10 years’+ experience
- 10+ years’ experience in Engineering or HSE leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality legislation
- Experience developing and assuring safety and risk management systems
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑site engineering safety projects
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
