This embedded software engineering role resides within the Software and Digital Platforms Group (SDP) enabling Aerospace, Defense and Communication Business Unit. The goal of this software engineering team is to develop and deploy production quality software and sub-system platform solutions to our customers and partners to enable them to build systems and end-products for multiple applications/segments – high-speed communications systems, programmable and flexible software-defined Radio systems, RADAR systems, and high speed/bandwidth test equipment, to name a few. These systems include both standards-based and proprietary implementations, and are deployed in civil (healthcare, industrial, automotive, consumer) as well as defense applications. This role requires an energetic and motivated individual with strong communication, organizational, and technical skills who works well in a diverse environment across a geographically-distributed organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, Develop and Validate embedded modular system software and low level firmware for RF/high-speed converter front end, chips, and SoC products in C/C++.
Develop and maintain Jenkins continuous integration and automated test scripts.
Develop on target systems that operate on bare-metal or real-time OS-based framework, on an ARM, RISC-V or other embedded processors.
Design software system frameworks and choose components based on system requirements.
Deliver quality Software following coding standards with very good documentation.
Work in a broad, cross-functional team with IC/System Designers, FPGA Designers, Applications Engineers, and other software team members. Build system prototypes and/or technology demonstrators to explore new technology or architecture ideas.
