As our new Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the Industrial EI&C team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable.

Your role will include:

  • In-depth knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects
  • A fundamental knowledge of key Australian Standards
  • Client interfacing
  • Experience in detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems
  • Experience with power systems software

What are we looking for from you?

You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.

As well as experience in a similar electrical engineering role previously. You would require:

  • Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
  • A minimum of 5 years’ post graduate experience working on detailed design for industrial projects, process plants, energy sector, water sector, transport sector or mining projects ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules.
  • Applied knowledge of ‘in-plant’ electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems
  • Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067.
  • Experience across all project development phases including concept, FEED and detail design
  • Experience with power systems design and modelling software such as PowerCad, ETAP or equivalent.
  • Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to support project deliverables.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications systems, SCADA, PLC/DCS, industrial networking and communication systems, Hazardous Areas, and Functional Safety would be viewed favourably.
