The Satcom Direct Government (SDG) Director of Sales Mil/Gov-APAC is responsible for managing key accounts and developing and winning new business in the region, primarily to support the sale of satellite communications (SATCOM) equipment and airtime for Military & Government aircraft.

You will work with the VP, Global Government, to achieve your region's annual targets and objectives. There is a strong, existing pipeline that includes major systems integrators, aircraft manufacturers, and government customers. However, further growth is essential, particularly to support the new Aero products and services that SDG brings to market in 2025/6.

 How will you make a difference? 

  • Responsibility for the SDG APAC Mil/Gov business unit, including team management, financial targets, business development, project delivery and strategy development
  • Lead the regional sales team to build the existing pipeline and grow revenue
  • Use entrepreneurial ‘flair’ to create compelling and innovative regional strategies
  • Manage and grow the regional channel/reseller network, encompassing sales of both aero equipment and satellite airtime
  • Oversee regional product/services go-to-market plans, particularly for unmanned platforms, Airborne ISR, VVIP aircraft and multi-role transport
  • Partner with various internal groups (e.g., Engineering, pricing, marketing) when developing new proposals and commercial offers
  • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows and conferences

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of sales experience in a related field (e.g. SATCOM or Avionics)
  • 5+ years of sales experience within the APAC region in Military and Government
  • 3+ years of team leadership/management experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Can be based out of SDG Australia or Singapore offices, but remote working is supported
  • Must already be eligible to work and live in Australia or Singapore

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Talents

  • Prior experience with military satellite communications (SATCOM) is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in selling aircraft systems/avionics is desirable
  • Preference for candidates who have experience in sales or delivery of aircraft modifications
  • Demonstrates strong entrepreneurial behaviours
  • Ability to learn quickly and make effective decisions
