Job Description

Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Services to provide clinical leadership and support operational excellence across Peninsula Private Hospital, a leading acute care facility located in Frankston, Melbourne’s south-east. This senior leadership role will be responsible for driving safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while strengthening clinical governance, workforce capability, and service improvement across the hospital. Working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, clinical leaders, VMOs, and corporate stakeholders, you will lead initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, improve operational performance, and support the hospital’s continued growth and success. What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Provide visible clinical leadership across Peninsula Private Hospital, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Partner with the Executive Team to drive clinical strategy, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and develop high-performing clinical teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and a strong culture of care.
  • Strengthen clinical governance, quality systems, and accreditation readiness.
  • Build trusted relationships with VMOs, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to support exceptional clinical outcomes.
  • Support workforce planning, capability development, and service optimisation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient experience, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

What You’ll Bring

You are an experienced healthcare leader with a strong clinical background and the ability to influence across a complex hospital environment.

You will bring:

  • Senior clinical leadership experience within an acute hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Clinical Services, Associate Director of Clinical Services, or equivalent senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of private hospital operations, clinical governance, and quality frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering with clinicians, VMOs, and executive leaders.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of operational performance drivers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Postgraduate clinical qualifications.
