We are seeking enthusiastic Senior DevOps Engineers, who are eager to tackle complex problems, build scalable solutions for our live video streaming platform, Kick.com.

You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure solutions that are scalable, reliable, and secure. You will work closely with our development teams to ensure that our cloud environment meets our high standards for performance, reliability and scalability.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience.
  • 6-8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, focusing on scalable system design and development.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (Terraform, NodeJS/Typescript etc).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges at scale.
  • Experience working with complex microservices architecture, high user volume and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPC etc).
  • Experience with AWS native services (EC2, Lambda, Codebuild, Eventbridge).
  • Domain experience with technology stacks including AWS EKS (Kubernetes), Terraform / Terragrunt and Datadog / Cloudflare
  • Understanding of security best practices and implementation.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership, and boast an attitude of getting stuff done.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Architect and design scalable, high-performance software solutions in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
  • Improve and ensure monitoring and logging of the system is of the highest standard.
  • Ensure systems are secure and safe from vulnerabilities, and ensuring security is maintained with system enhancements. 
  • Actively engage in hands-on coding and development, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts and project updates.
  • Provide technical leadership, guiding and mentoring junior engineers in the team.
