We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our Enterprise Operations team, reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager. In this dynamic role, you will be a key player in ensuring the seamless operation, performance, and cyber security of our database systems. As a technical expert, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust technology solutions that support our Retail business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, administer, maintain, monitor, and secure database systems.
  • Provide technical expertise to develop, implement, and maintain database processes within Enterprise Operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing and enhancing database standards, policies, and system performance.
  • Design, prototype, develop, and document new product offerings and internal tools while ensuring high standards of cyber security.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal customers to deliver an agile, high-quality end-user experience.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in Database Systems Operations.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server (MS SQL HA, Integration Services, Analysis Services, PowerBI/Reporting Services, Windows PowerShell, and T-SQL).
  • In-depth understanding of SQL internals, database structures, performance monitoring, and query tuning.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (IT, Computer Science, or analytical fields like development/programming) paired with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative attitude.

Desirable Extras: 

  • Experience with Cloud services, PostgreSQL (solution design/implementation), RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, Databricks), Unix/Windows server administration, shell scripting, or performance tools (Foglight, OEM, TOAD).
