The Data Analyst – Finance Operations plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of AI, automation and data-driven ways of working across Finance Operations, supporting Engineering, Cabin Crew, Flight Operations and Airports. This role drives process simplification, improves data quality and delivers self-service analytics solutions that enable faster, more informed decision-making. Through these insights, the role helps shape outcomes for Finance teams, the Chief Operating Officer and the Jetstar Operations Leadership Team (JOLT). More than a traditional analyst position, this opportunity is suited to someone who is equally comfortable engaging with Finance stakeholders and working with data, and who is passionate about building solutions that transform the way people work.
The core responsibilities of this role are:
- Drive AI, automation and process improvement initiatives across Finance Operations.
- Build and maintain low-code/no-code solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and the broader Microsoft Power Platform.
- Develop data pipelines, models to facilitate self-service reporting, analytics and workflow solutions that enable Finance and Operations teams to make faster, more informed decisions.
- Identify manual, repetitive and inefficient processes and design practical solutions that improve efficiency, control and data quality.
- Explore and apply AI and Copilot capabilities to solve real business problems, including opportunities for intelligent automation and AI agents where appropriate.
- Improve the way Finance data is captured, governed and used, helping create reliable and reusable data foundations for reporting and automation.
- Support transformation from idea through to implementation, including prototyping, testing, documentation, training and user adoption.
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI, analytics and automation tools
- Support user adoption through training, documentation and stakeholder engagement
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Information Systems or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics, business intelligence or finance transformation roles
- Experience working in Finance, Finance Transformation, Finance Operations business improvement or a similar environment, with a strong understanding of Finance processes and business needs (essential)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building solutions, rather than solely analysing or reporting on data
- Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent BI tooling (essential)
- Hands on experience with AI tools (Co-Pilot preferred) and automation platforms (Microsoft Fabric suite of products) is desirable.
- Familiarity with ERP and financial systems – Oracle, TM1 (desirable)
