6-Month Contract | Melbourne | Australian Citizens & PRs Only

The Opportunity

Datacom is offering an exciting 6-month contract opportunity for an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant with Workforce Identity and Access Management (WIAM) expertise to join our Australian Cybersecurity Consulting team. This is a rare chance to sink your teeth into meaningful, complex IAM work with high-profile enterprise clients — no internal politics, just quality delivery. Based in Melbourne, this role is ideal for an independent contractor who brings deep Saviynt expertise and Java development capability and wants to hit the ground running.

Please note: Due to the nature of our client engagements, applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be considered for this role.

What You'll Do

  • Designing and implementing Saviynt identity governance and access management solutions across enterprise client environments
  • Collecting and analysing client business and technical requirements to shape WIAM solution design
  • Contributing to solution architecture across the full WIAM lifecycle — from planning and design through to delivery and post-implementation support
  • Developing and customising integrations and workflows using Java development skills
  • Defining and documenting business processes, technical specifications, and solution architecture artefacts
  • Engaging directly with clients and stakeholders — presenting solutions, translating technical concepts, and driving outcomes
  • Supporting the assessment and maturation of WIAM capabilities including Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management, SSO, and MFA

What You'll Need

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Must be Melbourne based
  • Proven hands-on experience delivering Saviynt implementations in enterprise environments
  • Strong Java development background with experience building custom connectors, workflows, or integrations within IAM platforms
  • Solid understanding of IAM disciplines including Identity Governance, Data Access Governance, Privileged Access Management, and Role Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Identity technologies (Azure AD/Entra ID, Microsoft Identity Manager) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with complementary IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, or One Identity is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as SC-900, SC-300, or SC-100 are advantageous
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to liaise across business, technology, and project management teams
  • Self-motivated and outcomes-driven — you know how to deliver without hand-holding

If you're an experienced IAM contractor who's ready to deliver from day one, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now or reach out directly for a confidential conversation about the role.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
