Department OverviewAs a graduate Engineer (Cyber Security), you will be working in a team environment to provide high quality technical and operational support for mission critical ICT and Radio systems. In this role, you are expected to ensure service level and operational key performance measures are met on an ongoing basis in line with Confidentiality, Integrity, and Security (CIA) Principles. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization from potential cyber threats specific to the Australian market. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures, identifying vulnerabilities, and mitigating risks to protect our systems, networks, and sensitive data in compliance with appropriate law and regulation. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Cyber Security Graduate to gain practical experience and contribute to a dynamic and challenging work environment. Success in this role will be determined with a “can do” mentality and lifelong learning mindset. You are willing to learn new and proprietary technologies ‘on the go’ and be rewarded with gaining experience in managing new and innovative system solutions, applications and processes. Job Description
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Monitor systems and networks for potential security breaches, responding promptly to any incidents.
- Research and stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are effectively integrated into all Motorola systems and processes.
- Assist in implementing and managing security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses.
- Assist in the development of incident response plans and managing security incidents.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about best practices for information security. Including participation in the Cyber Security Champions program.
- Stay informed about relevant legal and regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
- Assist in developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Basic Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Cyber Security preferred.
- Alternatively: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline with relevant industry certifications. (ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA, or other as determined by the hiring Manager)
- Knowledge of relevant Australian legal and regulatory requirements, such as the Privacy Act or the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Understanding of ICT and RF systems (i.e. coursework/projects, research, internships, or other practical experience outside of schoolwork (including hobbies).
- Solid working proficiency in verbal and written English.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ICT Infrastructure either via course work or practical experience
- Industry certification, (networking/cloud or any security related certificate) - See above requirements for examples.
- Interest in learning scripting, application frameworks, networking and in particular network security.
- Pentesting experience theory or practical is desirable.
