As part of Group Media, you’ll join a high-performing, collaborative team that manages media engagement and issues across the Group. We work closely with senior leaders and business units to deliver clear, consistent and impactful communication that builds trust and confidence in our brand.
Do work that matters
This role is central to how we engage with the media and manage our reputation. You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping shape and deliver media strategies that support the Group’s objectives. You’ll contribute to proactive and reactive media engagement, manage complex issues, and help tell the story of how we’re supporting our customers, communities and the broader economy. Your work will help ensure our communications are aligned, timely and effective, making a real impact where it matters most.
On any given day, you will:
Develop and execute media strategies that support business priorities and enhance the Group’s reputation.
Provide strategic media advice and support to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
Manage proactive and reactive media engagement, including issues and crisis communication.
Draft and review media materials including press releases, briefing documents, and Q&As.
Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Monitor media coverage and provide insights to inform communication strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Affairs and the broader business to ensure alignment and consistency.
Support the delivery of integrated communication campaigns across earned, owned and paid channels.
We’d love to hear from people who have:
Extensive experience in media relations, corporate affairs or strategic communications ideally within banking or financial services
Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and key industry dynamics.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and crises with sound judgement and discretion.
Experience advising senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for storytelling and reputation management.
