Location: Australia, New Zealand (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Wellington) 

The Enterprise Principal Architects team is evolving. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping our customers deliver a safe and secure online experience.
In this key role, you will work closely with Major Accounts on the creation and implementation of strategic plans. You will be focused on attaining enterprise-wide deployments of our telco/carrier and/or cloud security solutions.  You will help manage, direct and drive the engineering outcome on key opportunities and projects in your assigned region. Furthermore, you will develop and nurture executive relationships with key buyers and influencers, to understand their strategic direction and objectives. You will also coordinate with internal groups to generate and deliver winning contract bids, proposals, RFI/RFP responses, and statements of work. You will also represent the EPA team as a technical expert on Fortinet core technology products – FortiGate, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

As a Consulting Systems Engineer, you will:

•Present Fortinet carrier and cloud security solutions to our customers. This will require you to adapt your presentation style to suit the audience, from C-Level, to Management and technical.
•Serve as the pre-sales technical escalation resource on sales calls and answer/ educate the customer on issues ranging from features, specifications and functionality to integration. 
•Works closely with the Systems Engineers and Account Managers to maximize the primary business focus. You will serve as leader responsible for the quality and success of technical resources in enterprise accounts.
•Develop technical account plans to achieve goals and exceed quota responsibility 
•Provide support to product management to help drive new products and innovations
•Facilitate workshops and training modules to increase customers/partners knowledge of Fortinet products
•Support and work through the entire process of sales, workshops, RFI/RFQ and PoC
•Pickup trends from customers and seek product innovation from Fortinet into those segments
•Develop relationships with key decision makers, influencers and partners

We Are Looking For:

•Extensive experience in technical/pre-sales support as a Sales/Systems Engineer or Consultant
•Able to balance the need between technical and business requirements
•Able to translate customer requirements into complete solutions that increase the Fortinet value proposition
•Deep technical understanding of Fortinet products: FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer are a must
•Good technical understanding of 4G mobile network, including its various network functions from RAN, backhaul, to the core network, plus their security challenges and mitigations
•Experience in 4G Mobile Network Security solutions, such as Security Gateway, Roaming Firewall, CGNAT, and Internet Firewall
•Good technical understanding of 5G mobile network, including its evolution from 4G, major use cases, its various network functions from RAN, front haul, backhaul, to core network, their security challenges and mitigations
•Knowledge in 5G Mobile Network Security solutions, such as Security Gateway, Roaming Firewall, CGNAT, and Internet Firewall, API Gateway, SBA security, cloud native Kubernetes security, AI/ML-based security analytics and mitigations
•Experience in delivering Software Defined Architecture solutions: Controller, Control Plane, Data Plane, OpenFlow, BGP-based SDN, BGP FlowSpec, BGP-LS
• Experience in private and public cloud technologies and architectures, including their security challenges and mitigations: OpenStack, VMware vSphere, VMware NSX-T, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, container networking interface, Docker, Kubernetes
•Understanding, translating and mapping cloud solution/architecture requirements to best practice designs with Fortinet product-based solution offering
•Understanding cloud technologies and helping customer and system engineers navigate the from on-premise/legacy architectures to equivalent cloud solutions which provide better or similar security posture
•Understanding of cloud native security and networking solutions in comparison to ISV vendor solutions
•Understanding of at least one major cloud provider IaaS services such as AWS, Azure and GCP
•Understanding of competitive SaaS offering in Cloud Workload protection and posture management is a bonus.
•Understanding of industry performance testing technology and methodology are desirable.
•Understanding of virtualisation and SDN are desired. Ideally this is hands-on level in OpenStack or VMware
•Understanding of data centre architectures. This includes security aspects in all layers as well as deep know how on data communication, telco standard protocols
•Knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, VPN, EVPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus
•Strong understanding of essential IPv4 and IPv6 protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of broader range of protocols 
•Self-motivated and creative, attitude is extremely important
•Consulting skills and consulting language is a must. You would be often looked up as an industry leader to provide consulting advice to customer often beyond their requirements and often converting the requirements into realistic solution offering
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•Available to undertake regular domestic and international travel (typically APAC region)
