St John of God Health Care is seeking experienced Communications Coordinators to join our Communications, External Affairs and Marketing team.

In this dynamic role, you will help shape and deliver impactful communications that strengthen our brand, promote our Mission and values, and support key organisational priorities across one of Australia's leading healthcare providers.

About the role:

Reporting to the Communications Lead – Victoria/NSW, you will develop and deliver communication initiatives that engage caregivers, support executive communications and showcase the people, services and achievements that make St John of God Health Care unique.

This is a varied role that combines strategic communication, content creation, stakeholder engagement and event coordination. The position offers flexibility to be based at our Melbourne CBD Head Office or one of our hospital locations in Geelong, Bendigo or Ballarat, providing the opportunity to work closely with teams across a range of healthcare settings.

We offer flexibility with this opportunity available on either a permanent full-time or part-time basis, with up to 38 hours per week.

The Position:

  • Develop and implement communication plans to support organisational priorities and key projects.

  • Create engaging content across multiple platforms, including articles, newsletters, social media posts, videos and digital communications.

  • Support executive and leadership communications to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage and update content on our intranet and internal communication channels.

  • Coordinate communication collateral, including digital signage, posters, presentations and promotional materials.

  • Measure and report on communication effectiveness and audience engagement.

  • Assist with monitoring social media channels and identifying emerging trends and opportunities.

  • Plan and coordinate internal and external events, including executive forums, launches, celebrations and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure communication activities meet business objectives.

To thrive in the role, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, coupled with at least three years' experience developing and delivering communication plans within a large and complex organisation. You will possess exceptional writing skills, with a proven ability to create clear, compelling and audience-focused content across a variety of communication channels, including digital and print platforms.

You will be a collaborative and hands-on team player with demonstrated experience managing communication initiatives for large-scale projects and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Your strong relationship-building, negotiation and problem-solving skills will enable you to effectively navigate complex environments, while your proficiency with content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), Canva and other graphic design tools will support the delivery of engaging and impactful communications.

  • Salary from $107,200 per annum (pro-rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation

  • Permanent full/part-time position (hours negotiated with suitable applicants)
