  • Technically competent with systems such as Jobpac, Aconex, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Commercial Manager, you’ll lead all commercial activities across a technically complex project, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, risks are managed, and project performance is commercially sound.

  • Oversee head contract administration, progress claims, variations, and notices
  • Manage procurement strategy and execution across all trade packages
  • Support design development and project planning with cost and contractual input
  • Monitor project costs, maintain rolling forecasts, and produce monthly financial reports
  • Review subcontractor claims and variations, ensuring compliance and cost alignment
  • Ensure accurate commercial documentation, records, and audit trails are maintained
  • Provide commercial guidance to project managers, site teams, and design consultants
  • Mentor and support Contracts Administrators and junior staff
  • Represent DCOH in negotiations and formal communications with clients, subcontractors, and consultants

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
