Where the team fits in 

The Commercial Manager, Investments sits within the Finance and Business Services Group, and helps to ensure that REA Group allocates its product delivery resources as effectively as possible to achieve maximum return on that investment.

This is an exciting role that is critical to helping the Group to scale through providing visibility of the investment’s costs and ROI, aligning roadmaps and priorities with business stakeholders, as well as establishing portfolio management practices suited for an agile environment.

 

What the role is all about 

  • Assist in the development and prioritisation of the group annual investment plan with clear articulation of what we are investing in and what benefits/outcomes we expect in return
  • Track and provide regular reporting and analysis of the group investment plan including shape of portfolio, return on investment (e.g. benefits tracking / realisation), risks and dependencies
  • Assist in the management of a rigorous discipline for how REA annually and incrementally allocates resources to meet the strategic goals of the business
  • Help each business understand the flow-on implications of proposed new initiatives
  • Support in aligning dependencies between multiple lines of business to ensure initiatives are resourced end-to-end, and work with delivery leadership to understand ongoing resource dynamics
  • Assist in undertaking Post Implementation Reviews
  • Support in the facilitation of problem solving and prioritisation discussions across multiple stakeholders
  • Recommend improvements to create efficiency and effectiveness in portfolio management at REA, including how to better coordinate, prioritise and report on the portfolio
  • You will build alignment and understanding between lines of business, teams and Group strategy and communicate portfolio investment decisions and implications to the broader business

 

Who we’re looking for 

  • 10+ years relevant industry experience
  • Self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems and is not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Strong strategic thinker, commercial acumen, and adaptability within fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional analytical skills with experience in corporate finance or corporate development highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up program frameworks and processes, including assessment of investments, program reporting and governance.
  • Cross functional understanding and ability to collaborate in a complex, fast paced business
  • Ability to forge trusted business relationships with stakeholders
  • Excel and powerpoint skills with experience in crafting executive-level presentations
  • First class communication – written, verbal and presenting skills
  • Confident in both formal and informal settings with the ability to relate to individuals across all levels
  • Share experience and knowledge with colleagues, enabling others to learn and grow
  • Embrace change and responsibility
  • Experience in a digital or technical business highly regarded
