  • Define and drive engineering standards, patterns, DevOps policies and Infrastructure‑as‑Code approaches
  • Build and deploy cloud workloads using Terraform and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure platform reliability, performance, security and cost optimisation through strong design and operational practices
  • Develop and maintain observability, monitoring and alerting to support platform stability
  • Partner with delivery teams, architects and stakeholders to drive outcomes from design through to production

What You’ll Need

  • Deep expertise in Azure cloud engineering, including IaaS, PaaS and modern cloud architecture patterns alongside:
    • Strong Azure Kubernetes Services,
    • Microsoft Entra,
    • App Services,
    • SQL Database
    • SQL Managed Instances
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform) and DevOps practices
  • Experience designing and supporting platforms used by large external customer or member bases
  • Experience with core Azure services including networking, identity, compute, databases and monitoring
  • Strong skills in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash or similar)
  • Experience working with containers (Docker / Kubernetes) and modern cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance and policy‑as‑code approaches
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership and drive work through to completion
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes
  • Exposure to Azure AI tooling and AI‑enabled engineering practices
  • Familiarity with enterprise landing zone design and modern platform engineering approaches

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
