Cisco is looking to identify a Senior Client Executive to lead the strategic partnership with Telstra, one of Cisco’s most significant Service Provider customers globally. This is a leadership role that involves leading the Cisco partnership with Telstra and deliver joint business outcomes. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated, high-performing sales team. Your role will be to define the strategic account plan and detailed execution plan and flawlessly execute to achieve sustainable business growth.

Your Impact

You will lead an account team, driving the full Cisco Product, Software, and Services portfolio. You will develop the competitive account strategy and orchestrate a vast extended team, including Systems Engineering, Sales Specialists, Services, Legal, and Finance, to lead complex, multi-year sales opportunities. You will own the strategy and execution for the account, partnering with Cisco’s sales, services and product teams to lead the full solution sales life cycle.

  • Sales Strategy: Define the sales strategy by creating short and long-term plans based on industry trends, competitive insights, and emerging technology trends.
  • Sales Leadership: Drive profitable sales across the entire Cisco portfolio, including Product, Software, and Services.
  • Strategic Alignment: Expand Cisco’s footprint by aligning Secure Networking and AI Infrastructure strategy with Telstra’s key business objectives.
  • Executive Engagement: Build and maintain executive relationships within Telstra and internally at Cisco to ensure executive alignment and sponsorship.
  • Value Selling:  Adopt value based selling methodology leveraging Cisco’s technology innovation and commercial models to deliver business benefits.
  • Sales Excellence: Build strong multi-year pipeline, provide accurate sales forecasts, achieve and exceed sales targets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 20+ years of sales experience managing large Tier-1 Service Provider accounts.
  • Proven business development experience within the Telecommunication industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading sales responsibility ($50M+) and consistently overachieving targets.
  • Thought Leadership: Ability to think strategically, communicate a compelling vision, and engage at the executive level.
  • Execution Excellence: Adept at balancing quarterly targets with long-term strategic goals.
  • Executive Engagement: Polished, politically savvy, and capable of navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Deal Architect: Extensive experience in closing large, multi-year, strategic deals.
  • Technical Breadth: Strong understanding of a broad range of Cisco technologies, including Networking, Security, Cloud, and AI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Formal training in advanced sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPIC).
  • Consistent record of successful solution selling in the Telecommunications sector.
  • Expert Networker: Ability to build and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders within a complex customer organization.
  • Collaborative Leader: Proven ability to work well with team members and lead an extended team across different business units.
