Your New Role

We're looking for a Claims Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing claims operations within our Insurance Operations & Claims team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Claims Operations, you'll provide operational leadership, governance oversight and technical expertise across claims handling and associated processes. You'll be responsible for driving high-quality service delivery, strengthening controls and data integrity, managing operational risk, and identifying opportunities to improve the experience for members and beneficiaries.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how claims operations are delivered, partnering with stakeholders across the Fund and external service providers to improve performance, deliver insights, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing subject matter expertise across insurance and claims operations. 
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, quality assurance activities, audits and operational insights
  • Overseeing claims operational reporting, quality metrics and performance monitoring. 
  • Ensuring robust governance, risk management and compliance practices are embedded across operations. 
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers. 
  • Supporting operational excellence through effective processes, controls and system integrity. 
  • Contributing to a culture focused on member outcomes, innovation and continuous improvement. 

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you'll bring significant experience in claims operations, insurance, superannuation or broader financial services environments, along with a passion for improving processes and delivering exceptional customer outcomes. 

You'll also bring:

  • Experience in operational leadership within claims, insurance or financial services. 
  • Strong understanding of claims management, regulatory frameworks and risk management practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience analysing operational performance and implementing improvements. 
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Experience working with quality assurance, incident management and operational reporting frameworks. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, with RG146 highly regarded.
