How you will make an impact:

As the Chromatography Data Systems Specialist (CDSS), you will drive commercial growth and technical success of the Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. You'll combine business development, technical consulting and customer success to support customers throughout the software lifecycle—from opportunity identification and solution design through implementation and adoption.

What you will do:

Commercial Growth:

  • Own and grow the ANZ Chromeleon software business.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain a sustainable opportunity pipeline across workstation, network, enterprise and upgrade opportunities.
  • Support Key Account Managers on strategic customer engagements.
  • Lead software quotations, proposals and commercial discussions.
  • Develop competitive displacement strategies against alternative CDS platforms.

Technical Sales & Solution Design:

  • Understand customer analytical workflows and laboratory requirements.
  • Recommend appropriate Chromeleon workstation, network and enterprise architectures.
  • Deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Conduct workflow assessments and solution design workshops.
  • Support proof-of-concept evaluations.
  • Present value propositions to laboratory managers, QA, IT and procurement stakeholders.

Customer Success:

  • Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Assist customers with implementation planning and adoption.
  • Support workflow optimization and best practice use of Chromeleon.
  • Coordinate with Professional Services, Service Engineers and Global Informatics teams during deployments.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex software enquiries.
  • Identify opportunities for software expansion and additional licensing.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Partner with Instrument Sales Specialists to identify software opportunities.
  • Deliver internal sales training and technical enablement.
  • Share competitive intelligence and market insights.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on customer events, seminars and webinars.
  • Work with Global Product Management to communicate ANZ customer requirements and market trends.
REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Life Sciences or related discipline.
  • Advanced qualification (Masters or PhD) desirable.

Experience:

  • Experience in chromatography or analytical laboratory environments.
  • Experience using Chromeleon or other chromatography data systems.
  • Experience in technical sales, applications or laboratory informatics.
  • Demonstrated success supporting complex customer projects.
  • Experience in regulated laboratory environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience with enterprise software or laboratory IT solutions is advantageous.
Travel requirements
  • Approximately 30-40% travel across Australia and New Zealand.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong consultative selling capability.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
  • Strong understanding of chromatography workflows (MS, HPLC, UHPLC, GC, IC).
  • Knowledge of laboratory software, informatics and enterprise deployment.
  • Understanding of data integrity, regulatory compliance (21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to influence customers and internal teams without direct authority.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
