Play a direct role in shaping the offering of one of Australia’s leading Marketplaces and support a remarkable experience for our customers as a Category Manager within our growing Marketplace Team.

Reporting to our Director - Marketplace, this role is focused on fostering relationships and sales of Sellers on our Marketplace platform and supporting them to curate the offering and range to tailor to our customers needs.  We're looking for a product driven,  commercial Category Manager who is able to identify opportunity and tailor a category to support our customers shopping experience.  

You'll be part of a fast-paced, constantly evolving business where your ability to quickly respond and enact change based on demand and market trend is essential to success!

Whether you're experienced in traditional Category Management and looking to transition into  eCommerce and/or Technology, or a Business Development Manager  who is looking to make a change into pure-play online retail, you'll be driven by customer centric outcomes and creating the best experience for our customers and sellers.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive growth within assigned categories
  • Oversee relationships with key accounts to ensure their success and maximise their impact on the marketplace
  • Monitor sales data, market trends, and account performance to identify opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Work closely with sellers to optimise product offerings, pricing strategies, and promotional activities
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to support data-driven decision-making
  • Create and implement marketing plans in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Ensure product listings are optimised for visibility and conversion, including accurate descriptions, images, and pricing
  • Coordinate and execute promotional campaigns that drive category performance
  • Report regularly on category performance, providing insights and recommendations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and category management effectiveness

To be successful in this role, you should be:

  • University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Business, Commerce, Marketing etc)
  • Commercially savvy, with demonstrated experience and success within a commercial role, preferably within Category Management in a Retail or eCommerce environment
  • Highly analytical and logical,  and always looking for new areas of opportunity
  • Able to develop strong relationships, through excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Have developed exceptional time management skills, being able to effectively manage multiple projects and timelines successfully
  • Tech savvy and able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Ready to challenge, be challenged, and work within our highly disruptive business model
