About the role

We have a rare opportunity for a Capital Transaction Manager to join our Property Team at Bunnings. Reporting to the Group Head - Capital Transactions and Facilities Management, this role provides an excellent chance to leverage your extensive experience in the Commercial Property sector

In this role you will ensure capital targets are met across the Australian and New Zealand property markets and drive the value of the property portfolio. You’ll play a key role, in managing the strategy, implementation and execution of both on and off market transactions for the freehold portfolio while being a strategic operator to unlock value on leasehold sites when required.  

This role can be based from either our Sydney (Rhodes) Support Office or Melbourne (Burnley) Support Office, working in line with our hybrid working model.

What's involved:

  • Rationalisation of the freehold portfolio and surplus property ensuring property capital and financial targets are met across Australia and New Zealand
  • Execute sale and leaseback of assets, either developed or undeveloped sites
  • Manage agents, execute marketing campaigns, and co-ordinate due diligence materials
  • Negotiate commercial terms for sales and leases and finalise legal documentation
  • Prepare financial feasibilities and capital expenditure proposals
  • Minimising capital exposure on leasehold properties, position assets in best possible position to release value

Who we’re looking for

You will be an experienced property professional, who brings a breadth of experience across real estate in sales, leasing and the development of commercial properties. Your experience will enable you to effectively manage negotiations with positive outcomes, whilst maintaining and building trusted relationships with your stakeholders.

You will have well-developed and professional communication skills both written and verbal, coupled with a high level of skill in legal documents, feasibilities and the ability to work across and deliver multiple projects at one time.

You’ll need:

  • Significant demonstrated experience within the property industry with a specific focus on Commercial Real Estate
  • Property related degree or diploma
  • Understanding of financial drivers and project feasibility
  • Proven ability in legal negotiations across contracts and leases
  • Working knowledge of property law
  • Strong property networks across landlords, retailers and institutions and awareness of the market’s movements
