Business Resilience Manager – Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Resilience Manager to join our Risk and Compliance team. This pivotal role is full time and reports directly to the Senior Enterprise Risk Manager and holds responsibility for shaping, implementing, and continually improving SS&C’s enterprise resilience programs.

As a leader, you will guide the development of business continuity, crisis management and emergency management planning strategies across the organisation. Your work will safeguard SS&C’s operations, people, clients and reputation in line with better practices, regulations, frameworks, and industry standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop & maintain the Frameworks:

  • Develop, implement, and manage SS&C’s enterprise resilience frameworks (business continuity, crisis management and emergency management).
  • Provide expert advice and tools, such as risk assessments, business impact analyses, and resilience resources.
  • Guide functional and operational leaders in planning and responding to emergencies, disasters, and business disruptions.
  • Act as a crisis leader and provide technical advice on incident response and recovery.
  • Ensure that SS&C’s resilience program meets governance requirements and reporting to the Executives, Committees and Board.
  • Coordinate education and training to ensure staff are prepared for their resilience responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the testing of the Frameworks on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor emerging risks, domestic and international standards, and lead thinking in the resilience space to keep SS&C’s strategies current and robust.
  • Develop & maintain a list of critical processes in line with APRA’s CPS & CPG 230 Operational Risk Management.
  • Respond to questions on SS&C’s enterprise resilience frameworks &
  • Prepare both internal and external client facing reports on testing and results of the business continuity, crisis management and emergency management.

Technology Utilisation:

  • Help integrate technology into enterprise resilience processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the implementation and usage of resilience-related technology tools.

Monitoring & Supervision:

  • Assist in monitoring business activities to ensure the enterprise resilience frameworks remain relevant and up to date.

Business Support:

  • Work with Management to provide basic coaching and support in improving their resilience activities & practices.
  • Assist in reviewing resilience training for employees.
  • Act as a contact point for the business & clients regarding business resilience questions and activities.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure their business resilience plans are maintained and update to date and plans are integrated into business processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business to enhance business resilience and efficiency.
  • Attend client meetings, as required, to provide an overview on SS&C’s enterprise resilience frameworks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business resilience or related role within the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Understanding of Superannuation & APRA Prudential Standards is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Interest in technology and openness to exploring AI applications in business resilience.
