What's the opportunity?
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of existing vendor accounts. Through strong relationship management, you will focus on fostering and driving sustainable business growth over time.
You will support and work collaboratively with the Relationship Manager to orchestrate an effective strategy for portfolio growth, ensuring prospective vendor accounts are onboarded, trained, and transacting.
About the Role:
• Prospect, onboard, and activate new renewable vendors within your portfolio
• Strengthen vendor relationships and implement growth strategies to position Plenti as Australia’s market leader in renewable energy finance
• Own sales performance for your state/territory with a focus on deal flow, portfolio utilisation, and origination growth
• Stay ahead of competitor activity, market trends, and policy changes, providing valuable feedback to enhance Plenti’s offerings
• Collaborate closely with relationship managers to optimise vendor engagement, retention, and performance
• Execute disciplined sales activities, including vendor engagement, account reviews, and growth plan implementation
• Clearly articulate Plenti’s competitive advantages and drive impactful sales strategies
About You:
You’re a motivated, results-driven Business Development professional with a passion for renewable energy and sales success. You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and bring a strategic, commercial mindset to business growth. Leveraging existing partnerships and proactively identifying new opportunities is your forte.
What We’re Looking For:
• 3+ years’ experience in a high-paced sales environment
• Proven success in business development, growing and managing a portfolio of accounts
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Skilled at anticipating and resolving objections
• Passionate and energetic representative of Plenti’s brand
• Exceptional time management and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
• Experience in point-of-sale finance is a plus, but not essential
•Strong knowledge of lending products and credit risk underwriting.
•A “hunting” mindset with the ability to self-start and drive leads independently
•Ability to grasp issues and find appropriate solutions to objections, often pre-emptively.
•A genuine willingness and desire to represent Plenti with passion and energy.
•Exceptional time management and self-organisation skills.
•Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
