Department OverviewAs a Cyber Security Specialist, you will be working in a team environment to provide expert-level technical and operational security assurance for mission critical ICT and Radio systems. In this role, you are expected to proactively manage and ensure compliance with stringent service level and operational key performance measures, upholding Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) Principles as a primary focus. You will play a crucial role in independently safeguarding our organization from complex cyber threats specific to the Australian market. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures, identifying zero-day vulnerabilities, and mitigating high-stakes risks to protect our systems, networks, and sensitive data in compliance with appropriate law and regulation.

Job Description
Hands on technical role in a mission critical technology environment.
Contribute to, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards across the enterprise.
Lead and execute regular, comprehensive security audits to identify vulnerabilities and dictate appropriate remediation solutions.
Monitor, analyse (e.g., SIEM analysis), and expertly respond to systems and networks for potential security breaches, leading incident response activities (Within the scope of the engagement).
Research and to stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats, trends, and technologies.
Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are securely integrated into all Motorola systems and processes (Security by Design).
Deploy, and manage advanced security tools such as next-generation firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and advanced endpoint protection.
Perform and interpret results from independent vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and prioritise potential weaknesses. Including the presentation to senior customer stakeholders
Develop and deliver high-impact training and awareness programs to educate employees about best practices for information security, including participation in the Cyber Security Champions program.
Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements and ensure continuous and demonstrable compliance (e.g., ISM, PSPF).
Basic Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of dedicated experience in a security-focused engineering or analyst role.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science.
Alternatively: Relevant Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or relevant GIAC certifications).
Demonstrated expert knowledge and proven application of relevant Australian legal and regulatory requirements, such as the Privacy Act or the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM).
Proven hands-on expertise securing complex ICT systems (networking, virtualization, cloud).
Expert working proficiency in verbal and written English, including the ability to compose executive-level security reports.
The role will require a minimum Australian baseline security clearance and as such only applicants that are eligible need apply.
Experience in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation (SOAR) and threat hunting.
Industry certifications in cloud security (e.g., AWS/Azure Security Specialty) or advanced networking (e.g., CCNP Security).
Practical experience conducting penetration testing and/or managing red team/blue team exercises.
