We’re looking for people to join the Access family, who share our passion for believing in better, and who will help us continue to grow.

Love Work. Love Life. Be You. - is central to our success and how we give our customers the freedom to do more of what's important to them.

What does Access offer you?

We offer a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.

About the role:

ATOSmartDocs is a member of the Access Group Accounting Practice Division. As a key member of the team, this Business Development Manager role targets an exceptional greenfield opportunity where 90% of Australia’s 17,500 medium and large accounting firms still rely on manual processes. You’ll own the full sales cycle from outbound prospecting through close, targeting accounting practices.

About you:

To be perfect for this role, you may be fairly early in your SaaS sales career or looking to build on outstanding success for the past few years as a senior Business Development Representative, with a passion for selling innovative Saas solutions. You’ll be driving new business for ATO SmartDocs, Australia’s leading ATO document automation platform.

This is an exceptional opportunity, one where you will learn and build your career within a great team. If you are curious, motivated and want to be part of an industry-leading sales team, this could be the job for you!

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Be focused on outbound Prospecting and Lead Generation: Driving new business pipeline by conducting high-volume outbound calling campaigns to Australian accounting firms,
  • Conducting detailed Discovery and Needs Analysis: Engaging with practice managers and partners to quantify their current ATO document processing workflows.
  • Delivering engaging Product Demonstrations and Solution Positioning: demonstrating & showcasing ATOSmartDocs' key differentiators
  • Own the full sales cycle from Pipeline Management to Deal Closure: You’ll be managing pipeline in Salesforce with accurate forecasting and stage progression.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Market Intelligence and Competitive Positioning: Across the Australian accounting software landscape, track competitive movements from ATO Mate and emerging solutions, gather prospect feedback on product gaps and pricing concerns, and collaborate with sales leadership to refine messaging and positioning.

Your skills and experiences might also include:

  • Consultative Selling and Business Acumen: You need the ability to engage accounting firm partners and practice managers in business-level conversations about operational efficiency, as well as product features
  • A Resilient Outbound Prospecting Mindset: This role demands genuine comfort with high-volume outbound calling and the resilience to handle rejection without losing motivation or call quality.
  • Software Sales Methodology and Pipeline Discipline: You should understand and execute structured sales methodology including qualification frameworks like BANT or MEDDPICC, stage-based pipeline management, and accurate forecasting in Salesforce CRM.
  • Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management: Success requires building genuine rapport with accounting professionals who are often time-poor and skeptical of vendors making bold productivity claims.
  • Willingness to learn and grow: You’ll be looking to grow your selling skills, work in a team environment and be open to new ideas and approaches to selling.  Your mindset should be one of continued learning and passion for growth.
  •  Ideal candidates bring 1 to 2 years of software sales experience with proven success in outbound prospecting and deal management, and thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment where personal effort directly drives results.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
