One of Pine's portfolio companies is looking for a Business Central Functional Consultant to own implementations end-to-end — from discovery and scoping through build, training, and deployment — while also contributing to pre-sales and managing client relationships post go-live.

This is a breadth role: delivery and pre-sales and account management. The right person can walk into a client's business, quickly understand how it operates, design a Business Central solution that fits, build and deliver it, train the team to actually use it, and stay engaged as the go-to person for that account — while helping win the next deal. The Business Central practice is growing and they need someone who can carry a project independently and help build the pipeline alongside it. This seat is open now.

What You'll Do

    • Lead end-to-end Business Central implementations — from discovery and scoping through configuration, testing, training, and go-live

    • Run requirements workshops and business process mapping sessions, translating client needs into a clear solution design and defined project scope

    • Configure and build Business Central solutions across core functional areas (finance, operations, supply chain) tailored to each client’s requirements

    • Design and deliver end-user training programs that leave clients confident and capable at go-live — not dependent on ongoing hand-holding

    • Own post-go-live client relationships, acting as the trusted go-to for follow-on support, expansion, and account development

    • Support pre-sales activities including product demos, solution walkthroughs, effort and scope estimation, and proposal contributions

    • Identify and develop follow-on opportunities within existing accounts, working with the broader team to grow the practice

What They're Looking For

    Required

    • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate (MB-800)

    • 5+ years of hands-on implementation experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or NAV

    • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery and scoping sessions — eliciting requirements, mapping business processes, and producing a solution design

    • Full-lifecycle delivery experience: configuration, testing, end-user training, and go-live support

    • Confident, credible client-facing communicator — comfortable leading workshops, presenting to senior stakeholders, and training end users

    Nice to Have

    • Pre-sales experience — demos, solution walkthroughs, scope and effort estimation, and proposal support

    • Account management experience — nurturing client relationships, identifying follow-on work, and acting as a trusted advisor

    • Exposure to Australian finance and tax requirements, including GST and local compliance

    • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate) and system integrations

    • Additional Microsoft certifications (e.g. MB-820, MB-500) or industry vertical specialisation

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
