Your New Role and Responsibilities  

We are seeking a Business Analyst with experience in software applications to join a multi-year Defence program to deliver an enterprise Health Knowledge Capability. This role involves working closely with stakeholders, software developers, and healthcare professionals to gather requirements, analyse workflows and business needs, produce the user stories, data availability assessments and system design criteria. Contribute to the design and implementation of high-quality software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both business processes and Clinical/healthcare technology.

The Business Analyst will also work closely with the Service Design Lead, BRM, Clinical Advisers, the Training Coordinator and Maintenance personnel, and the Engineering Team to define controls, conversion procedures, and system implementation plans that, including user training and orientation. 

  • Collaborate extensively with multidisciplinary stakeholders to gather, document, and translate complex business and clinical requirements into actionable software solutions.

  • Lead comprehensive requirements analysis, workflow optimization, and stakeholder engagement through workshops, interviews, and collaborative planning sessions.

  • Facilitate agile development processes, including user story creation, sprint planning, and backlog management, while ensuring alignment with healthcare industry standards.

  • Conduct rigorous gap analysis, feasibility studies, and system testing to validate and refine software solutions that meet clinical and operational needs.

  • Develop strategic documentation and support change management initiatives, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of healthcare technology trends and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Bring to Make An Impact  

  • Proven Business Analyst experience in clinical or healthcare software environments, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex projects and bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Advanced analytical and communication skills, with expertise in gathering, documenting, and translating business and system requirements in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Deep understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance standards within the healthcare sector.

  • Strong collaborative capabilities to work effectively with software development teams and deliver functional, user-friendly applications.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare workflows, clinical terminology, and industry standards (FHIR, HL7 and SNOMED CT), supported by relevant certifications and technical proficiencies.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be able to hold a minimum NV-1 level Australian security clearance.
