Profile Requirements:
- Min 2.5 year proven experience in a similar role and function.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages:
- Java / Kotlin
- Python
- Ruby
- TypeScript (Node.js)
- Experience with:
- REST APIs / GraphQL
- Database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar)
- Experience of frontend/mobile integration:
- iOS (Swift / Objective-C)
- Android (Kotlin / Java)
- Familiarity with:
- HTML, CSS, SCSS (for full-stack collaboration where needed)
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong understanding of version control (Git)
- use of AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, Emergent and/or others
Core responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs supporting mobile applications
- Build and manage RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for iOS and Android apps
- Collaborate with mobile developers (Swift, Kotlin) to ensure seamless integration
- Optimise backend performance, scalability, and reliability
- Work with databases (SQL / NoSQL) and data modelling
- Implement secure authentication, authorisation, and data protection practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues across production and development environments
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
- Support deployment, CI/CD processes, and cloud infrastructure
