The world’s biggest challenge needs you, here.

Big challenges require big solutions. And the transition to a net-zero world is about as big as it gets. Working at Shell Energy - one of Australia’s leading energy retailers - puts you at the heart of that endeavour.

Lead the change, from the frontline

At Shell Energy, we’re looking for a results-driven Credit Manager to lead our B2C Credit team, driving performance, process improvements, and customer outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a key role in ensuring the financial health of our retail business while building strong stakeholder relationships and embedding operational excellence.

With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the B2C Credit team while optimising allocation of work and performance outcomes.

  • Oversee credit collection strategies across residential and small business portfolios, ensuring effective debt recovery.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies and debt collectors to drive results.

  • Implement credit policies, frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance and efficiency.

  • Partner with sales, finance, legal and operations teams to align credit strategies to business goals.

  • Deliver accurate reporting and insights on credit exposure, risk trends and performance.

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • Proven experience leading credit functions (credit risk, collections, vulnerable customer management).

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and reports.

  • Experience managing vendors/third parties and driving credit transformation activities.

  • Energy industry experience and understanding the complex regulatory landscape.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to solve complex problems.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.

  • A passion for developing talent and fostering a high-performance culture.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
