The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to further develop their plaintiff practice career within a highly regarded Work Injuries team. You will manage your own matters with increasing autonomy while working alongside experienced practitioners who are passionate about achieving justice for clients.

Based in South East Melbourne, you will play a key role in supporting clients through what is often one of the most challenging periods of their lives.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Associate, you will:

  • Manage a varied portfolio of Work Injuries matters from inception through to resolution
  • Provide clear, practical and empathetic legal advice tailored to clients' individual circumstances
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence and court materials with a high degree of accuracy
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to progress matters and achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers, medical professionals, counsel and other stakeholders
  • Participate in negotiations, conferences and advocacy opportunities appropriate to your experience level
  • Maintain excellent file management, billing, time recording and compliance practices
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and professional networking activities
  • Mentor and support junior team members while contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Admission to practice in Victoria and a current Australian practising certificate
  • Experience in Work Injuries, Personal Injury or a related plaintiff law practice
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, legal principles and court processes
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
  • A genuine commitment to client service and access to justice
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice technology
