About Stryker

At Stryker, we are one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, driven to make healthcare better—together with our customers. Our innovative products and services in Medical and Surgical, Neurotechnology, Orthopaedics, and Spine are designed to improve patient and healthcare outcomes.

Why this role

We’re looking for an exceptional people leader to join our team as an Associate Manager. You’ll lead a passionate team of Field Service Engineers across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. If you're someone who thrives on coaching and developing high-performing teams, creating a strong team culture, and delivering exceptional service to customers—this could be the role for you.

Travel is a key part of the role as you’ll be connecting with both your team and customers across your region.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach, and support a high-performing team of 8–10 Field Service Engineers across VIC, SA, and TAS

  • Build a team culture that’s collaborative, accountable, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of

  • Provide regular mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback aligned with long-term goals

  • Set clear expectations, celebrate wins, and keep your team focused on delivering results

  • Ensure exceptional standards in technical service, documentation, and customer experience

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to support seamless service delivery

Who you are
We’re looking for a people leader who’s ready to show up, lead from the front, and bring energy to every conversation. You’ll be responsible for a high-performing team spread across three states, and they’ll look to you for clarity, consistency, and support.

  • You must have 4+ years of experience leading and coaching a team. That means real leadership—developing people, driving performance, and creating a culture where your team can thrive. If you’ve done that, and loved it, you’ll fit right in. If not, no worries—this probably isn’t the right role (yet).
  • You’ll be working in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Things move quickly here, and we need someone who thrives under pressure, brings structure to complexity, and keeps the team focused on what matters most.
  • We’re after collaborative partners—people who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, data, and insights that drive continuous improvement.
  • We want talent developers. Growth-oriented leaders who recruit top performers and genuinely care about helping their team level up—both personally
  • We need performance-driven managers who constantly look for ways to improve. You’ll implement smart processes, streamline operations, and use your team’s strengths to lift productivity and results.

Why Join Stryker?

  • Be part of a global leader committed to innovation and healthcare.
  • Thrive in a supportive, fun, and collaborative team culture that values your contributions.
  • Access exciting career growth opportunities, ongoing training, and great employee benefits from day one.
  • Embrace a role full of variety, travel, and adventure, where every day brings something new.
  • Work alongside leaders dedicated to your professional and personal development.

At Stryker, our mission is simple: Together with our customers, we’re driven to make healthcare better.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
