About the role

 

Exciting opportunity to join our digital team as an Associate DevOps Engineer.

With the continued growth in digital channels Bunnings is actively expanding its in-house software engineering capabilities to develop, operate, and enhance its digital platforms.

An integral element of our strategy is the adoption of a "you build it, you run it" philosophy, supported by robust self-service tools and platform engineering practices. As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation.

 

What's involved:

  • Help manage and optimize our Kubernetes environment on Azure (AKS), enhancing our ability to scale dynamically and maintain high availability across all services
  • Develop and maintain our Digital CI/CD pipelines and tooling, ensuring a seamless and efficient development lifecycle that empowers teams to deliver quality changes rapidly
  • Champion our shift towards self-service capabilities, enabling teams to independently manage their workflows in Azure and other platforms with effective and secure tools tailored to their needs
  • Contribute to platform engineering initiatives, architecting foundational services that support the broader objectives of operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate to Shape our digital culture and practices, establishing forward-thinking ways of working and mentoring junior team members to foster a collaborative and innovative engineering community

Who we’re looking for

 

You will be motivated by the opportunity to grow your career in DevOps, with an eagerness to learn and adopt new and emerging technologies. You will have strong problem-solving skills, coupled with troubleshooting and analytical experience to help design solutions and fix issues with existing systems and environments. You will have good communication skills and be able to work effectively withing an Agile delivery environment.

 

You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Software Development or IT teams (minimum of 1 year)
  • Knowledge or exposure in establishing and maintaining cloud-based environments particularly in Azure
  • Knowledge or exposure in implementing Infrastructure as Code preferably in Terraform
  • Exposure in designing, building, and managing performant, secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling
  • Any background in any programming language i.e. C# or JavaScript 
  • Basic scripting skills (Powershell or Bash)
  • Exposure to any or both Linux and Windows environments
  • Exposure to delivering technology change within a product organisation
