About the Role 🤔

Join our team as an Assistant Accountant in this newly created role, introduced to support our business through its continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic finance team, where you'll play a key role in supporting financial processes and ensuring accuracy across reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance requirements.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while also providing support across accounts payable and receivable as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset to develop their finance skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do 💸

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounting reports ensuring that the cut-off dates of the accounting periods are met
• Assist with profit and loss analysis and reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations
• Assist with rolling forecasts and cashflow analysis
• Aid in maintaining the Fixed Assets register
• Support with indirect tax reporting (international sales tax) and reconciliations
• Assist with year-end audit tasks
• Assist with KPI and metric reporting, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis for the CFO and other key stakeholders
• Provide support with Accounts Payable and Receivable functions as required
• Ensure ongoing compliance with OHS policies and procedures

What You'll Bring 🤝

• Proven experience in a similar role
• Bachelor of Commerce or Finance or Accounting or a related discipline
• Working towards CPA/CA qualification
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving and lateral thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances
• Excellent written and spoken communication
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Team-oriented and able to easily collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
• Commercial and outcome-focused
• Previous experience within the wholesale or retail industries will be highly regarded
• System experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite will be highly regarded
