Job Description

This casual role is an on site opportunity based at both Epworth Eastern and Epworth Richmond. You will be responsible for coordinating casual, permanent pool and agency staff to fill vacant nursing & ward clerk shifts for Epworth HealthCare. You will be part of our Central Resource Unit (CRU) and report to the CRU Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Co-ordinating casual staffing to ensure shifts are filled in a timely manner to support the safe running of our wards and departments
  • Liaising with clinical staff and hospital co-ordinators regarding staffing requirements
  • Liaising with casual and permanent pool CRU staff regarding availability and bookings
  • Liaising with external agencies when unable to fill vacant shifts with CRU staff
  • Management of the electronic casual staffing systems (Shift match & MyRoster) including setting up and educating new staff on how to use the systems
  • Providing administration support to the Central Resource Unit Manager

To be successful in this role…

You're comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team, you are a natural communicator with strong customer service and negotiation skills and to build effective working relationships with your team, colleagues and key stakeholders.  You have excellent time management, attention to detail, with the ability to “think outside the box” to problem-solve. 

You will have:

  • Previous experience within healthcare or in an allocations or rostering role would be advantageous
  • Strong computer literacy
  • The ability to work a variety of shifts across the weekly roster
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and critically think through high pressured scenarios, while managing multiple priorities
  • A high level of flexibility to shift your roster for operational needs
