Rate: $11-12 AUD/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented BCA Consultant with proven experience in Australian building regulations. The successful candidate will provide compliance advice in accordance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards, ensuring all projects meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess architectural and engineering drawings for compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA).
- Prepare and issue BCA compliance reports and performance solutions.
- Provide technical advice on fire safety, accessibility, egress, and building classifications.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, certifiers, and local authorities to resolve compliance issues.
- Review and interpret Australian Standards relevant to building construction.
- Assist in developing Performance-Based Solutions where Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions are not met.
- Support Development Applications (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) processes.
- Attend project meetings and provide compliance guidance throughout design and construction phases.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Building Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with the National Construction Code.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, and accessibility requirements (this is the main focus)
- Experience working on residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in Australia.
- Familiarity with state-based regulations (NSW, VIC, QLD, etc.).
- Experience liaising with private certifiers and local councils.
