Meet the Team

Cisco is seeking an Account Executive to join our Victoria Education team. In this role, you will build, deepen, and grow strategic relationships with education customers while helping them achieve their goals through technology.

You will represent Cisco's broad portfolio, including networking, security, collaboration, software, services, and AI solutions. By understanding customer priorities and challenges, you will help education organisations unlock new opportunities, improve outcomes, and accelerate innovation.

As an Account Executive, you will collaborate with Solutions Engineers, Architects, Customer Experience teams, Services, Finance, Legal, and other specialists to develop customer strategies, identify opportunities, and deliver measurable value.

This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, influencing outcomes, and partnering with customers to create lasting impact.

Your Impact

  • Develop and execute customer-focused account strategies aligned to business priorities, technology initiatives, and long-term goals.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive leaders, business stakeholders, and technology decision-makers.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities across Cisco's portfolio and clearly communicate the business value of proposed solutions.
  • Identify, develop, and advance opportunities that deliver meaningful customer outcomes while driving sustainable growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and successful business results.
  • Drive adoption of innovative solutions that help customers address emerging challenges and achieve their strategic objectives.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, manage pipeline activity, and execute account plans that support consistent performance.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer priorities, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to uncover new opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technology sales, account management, business development, or another customer-facing role.
  • Demonstrated success building, managing, and growing strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience leading complex sales opportunities within enterprise or large-scale organisations.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and establish credibility with senior business and technology leaders, including C-suite stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional and virtual teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong skills in account planning, opportunity management, forecasting, and pipeline development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate the business value of technology solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Education and/or Government customers.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, data centre, cloud, and AI technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience helping customers define and execute technology transformation initiatives.
  • Track record of increasing adoption of innovative technology solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Understanding of complex organisations, procurement processes, and buying cycles.
  • Experience developing business plans that create customer value and support long-term growth.
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build alignment across a matrixed organisation.
