We are hiring a 6G Researcher (Radio Standardization), who has a strong interest in applied research, natural curiosity and should thrive in interacting with a global industry research community, and with experience in evolving radio access network technologies and standards, by developing a new research concept and having it accepted by a technical committee. This role supports Ericsson's mission and vision to be a technology leader in shaping tomorrow's mobile communication networks.
What you will do:
  • Responsible for developing concepts for Ericsson to contribute in the 3GPP RAN4 working group.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical specifications for the 6G RAN standard
  • Be part of a team developing concepts and working with standardization delegates.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of mobile communication by collaborating with industry experts and stakeholders both internally and externally.

The skills you bring:
  • PhD or Master's in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in evolving radio access technologies and standards.
  • Deep knowledge of 5G NR physical layer. Understanding of 5G RAN products and deployments.
  • Ability to navigate the 3GPP standardization process.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English with ability to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Business level Japanese, and familiar with Japan local eco-system.
  • Ability to carry out computer simulations.
  • Strong collaborator in a global environment.

Expectation (first 3, 6 & 12 months) & Career path
  • After 3-6 months you are established in the team and contributes to the team effort. After 12 months you are expected to be established as a technical authority for a sub-domain within the standardization area.
