Leads Xero’s internal AI transformation and strategic programs from opportunity scoping through implementation and adoption. Responsibilities include structuring ambiguous problems, developing recommendations and business cases, translating AI goals into requirements and delivery plans, coordinating technical and non-technical stakeholders, and driving measurable outcomes. The role also involves commercial decision-making, cross-functional influence, mentoring, and supporting operating model and technology transformation.

Shape technical strategy for Xero’s payments products and platform portfolios, influencing architecture, engineering standards, and scalable distributed systems across 40–50 engineers. Partner with senior stakeholders, remain hands-on with design and code, guide decisions on legacy systems, mentor senior engineers, and lead initiatives involving payment rails, APIs, cloud platforms, AI-powered workflows, and global transaction infrastructure.

Shape technical strategy for Xero’s Payments Products and Payments Platform portfolios. Design scalable, resilient distributed systems, guide architecture across 40–50 engineers, evaluate legacy systems for extension or migration, and remain hands-on with technical work. Collaborate with product and senior engineering stakeholders, mentor Staff and Senior engineers, establish engineering standards, and support payment platform modernization, AI-powered workflows, global rails, and growth experimentation.
