Advise product and engineering teams on privacy, data protection, IP, AI, online safety, marketing, platform, competition, and consumer laws. Counsel on AI products, partnerships, go-to-market strategies, and consumer terms; develop AI policies, legal frameworks, playbooks, and scalable review processes. Support privacy and data security incident response, monitor global regulations, and collaborate with international stakeholders across legal, privacy, security, product, engineering, and marketing teams.

Own end-to-end production of locally relevant graphics and illustration content, establish visual direction, provide creative feedback, and shape AI-assisted production workflows. Use data, search signals, and market insights to identify opportunities, translate strategy into production plans, and ensure assets meet quality, metadata, and discoverability standards. Collaborate with regional and operational teams while sharing expertise across the Motion and Illustration team.

Own reliability for Canva’s highest-risk technical domains by writing production software for large-scale distributed systems. Responsibilities include improving sharding, resource utilization, resilience, observability, performance, and incident outcomes; debugging unfamiliar codebases; collaborating with product and infrastructure teams; mentoring engineers; and contributing shared platform capabilities. The role requires deep systems, networking, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, distributed-systems, and production incident-response expertise.
