The Workday and Payroll Specialist will support the Workday Functional Manager in the effectiveness and efficiency of Workday, assist with payroll related activities and provide support and guidance to the People, Culture & Communication (PC&C) team, people leaders and employees to promote self-service functionality.
This is a one year limited tenure role.
The role will partner with the business to review configuration and implement approved changes, including testing, deployment, and support activities. They will provide support to the Payroll Officer, will develop, create, and maintain a variety of reports in Workday, as well as utilising other organisational tools and available technologies to meet both internal and external stakeholder requirements
The Role
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time — including auditing, reconciliations, and lifecycle validation
- Monitor data integrity and compliance through scheduled audits and system checks
- Lead the ongoing configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Business Processes
- Partner with PC&C, IT, and Finance to enhance service delivery and streamline processes
- Manage organisational security roles and resolve user-based security issues
- Provide integration and reporting support across Workday architecture
- Support Workday inbound/outbound integration enhancements and issue resolution
- Deliver break/fix support and regression testing for Workday interfaces
- Promote self-service functionality through training and communication
- Maintain system documentation, dashboards, and reporting catalogues
- Drive successful deployment of Workday bi-annual releases, prioritising features and assessing change impact
- Uphold change management processes to meet audit and regulatory requirements
You will bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a HRIS and / or Payroll role.
- Knowledge of HRIS’s and / or Payroll reporting tools.
- Proficient in HRIS and / or Payroll business process, data maintenance and security configuration.
- Experience in HRIS and / or Payroll implementations, testing and deployment activities.
- Knowledge of People organisational policies and practices and current employment legislation
