The microbiology division provides solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination in industrial applications.

The Virtual Sales Specialist Microbiology role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. offers an outstanding opportunity to join an outstanding team driving innovation in the field. This position is suited for those passionate about making a significant impact through sales and customer engagement in the microbiology sector.

This office-based role focuses on serving customers engaged in microbiological activities across multiple industries and markets. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and growing our customer base, ensuring execution of sales strategies and achieving sales targets.

What You'll Do:

  • Meet or surpass territory sales plan to support Australasian goals by retaining current clients, growing business in existing accounts, and cold calling for new accounts.
  • Produce and follow a relevant Call Cycle for the territory.
  • Provide product and other relevant information to customers via daily phone contact, virtual meetings, and email for all aspects of Microbiology business to generate sales.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records on the company CRM.
  • Identify new accounts in a defined territory that will positively impact the sales growth in that territory.
  • Actively participate in forums to share market trend insights, competitor intelligence, customer feedback, and sales standard methodology techniques with peers.
  • Develop, write, and implement a strategic plan for the assigned territory annually, updated quarterly.
  • Establish and develop customer relationships to cultivate customer loyalty and allegiance.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Science / Microbiology preferred

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Proficient with MS Office – Excel skills a must
  • Exhibit clear verbal and written communication
  • Highly motivated and competitive
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of successful sales experience
  • Must deliver excellent customer service
  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
