Job Description

Join Nine on a 12-month contract as a Video Editor - TV, where you will partner with our News Edit Supervisors to deliver dynamic video content for our leading news and current affairs bulletins. Utilising platforms like AVID Media Composer, you will showcase your creativity, speed, and accuracy to craft captivating stories from a diverse range of multimedia sources. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape culture and connect communities across Australia's premier broadcast network in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Day to day you will:

  • Edit broadcast-ready material, including news packages, voiceovers, and feature stories for Nine News and digital platforms.

  • Swiftly ingest multimedia content, restore library assets, and precisely compile vision for long-term archiving.

  • Work collaboratively across a dynamic 24/7 roster, managing early starts and late finishes to support live news delivery.

  • Deliver highly accurate, creative, and polished video content to strict deadlines during both quiet and peak broadcast periods.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal editorial and broadcast engineering teams to optimise production workflows.

  • Proactively identify and escalate any technical or engineering issues to ensure seamless daily broadcast operations.

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated practical experience with video editing software, with proficiency in AVID Media Composer highly regarded.

  • A solid technical understanding of media file formats, compression codecs, and file-based delivery systems.

  • Prior experience thriving in a live television broadcast, sports, or fast-paced newsroom environment.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach with a genuine passion for news, sport, and current affairs.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and focused when meeting tight broadcast deadlines.
