Division Overview:

Genius Sports’ advertising division connects brands with exclusive sports media inventory and highly engaged audiences across premium digital environments via our FanHub platform.

With more than two hundred advertisers already activating through our ecosystem, we are now deepening our partnerships with brands and agencies looking to access sports audiences and create new unique ways to engage fans through next gen sports technology.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic sales leader to join our team as Vice President of Advertising Sales. In this role, you will play a central part in accelerating revenue growth by overseeing and expanding our relationship with one of the major advertising holding companies. Leading a dedicated team of sales professionals, you will guide efforts to deliver innovative advertising solutions and cultivate strong, value-driven partnerships.

You will be the driving force behind showcasing the full potential of the FanHub platform, highlighting the distinct advantages of our premium sports inventory and high-impact audience segments. By bringing a deep understanding of the advertising landscape and a passion for sports, you will inspire confidence in clients and open up new avenues for creative brand engagement.

This role offers a unique opportunity to blend commercial leadership with a love of sports, within a company that is redefining how advertisers connect with passionate fan communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with key advertisers, agencies, and trading desks to drive new business opportunities and secure long-term partnerships.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team to exceed revenue targets and drive business growth.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand our market presence, increase client acquisition, and maximize revenue opportunities within the sports advertising ecosystem.
  • Revenue Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, and operations to optimize revenue streams, enhance product offerings, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of advertisers.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive developments, and emerging technologies in sports advertising to inform strategic decision-making and maintain our competitive edge.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, serving as a strategic advisor and understanding their business objectives to deliver tailored advertising solutions that drive results.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to track sales performance, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in advertising sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and building successful sales teams within the digital advertising industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of collaboration, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and build rapport with clients at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies, identify market opportunities, and drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in sales CRM systems, ad tech platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for innovation, continuous learning, and driving change in the advertising industry.
  • Deep understanding of the sports media landscape would be a huge plus, including familiarity with sports publishers, leagues, teams, and fan demographics.

What’s in it for you?

The salary for this role is based on an annualized salary of $180,000 to $2200,000 depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's commission and benefits plan. 

As well as a competitive salary, variable compensation and annual leave allowance, our benefits include health insurance, skills training and much more, depending on the location. We also offer a host of softer benefits, including many social events throughout the year such as summer and winter holiday parties, monthly team building events, sports tournaments, charity days and wellbeing activities.
