MEDFAR Clinical Solutions was founded in 2010 by two aeronautical engineers who realized that the healthcare system was not exploiting the full potential of technology. Supported by a large community of medical experts and focused on clinical success and patient safety, MEDFAR was the first company to certify a cloud-based Electronic Medical Record in Canada: MYLE (Make Your Life Easy).
Committed to promoting excellence and effectiveness in healthcare worldwide, MEDFAR differentiates itself by offering a unique healthcare management solution for clinics, which replaces inefficient processes with a faster and safer technological alternative.
Job DescriptionAt MEDFAR, we are transforming the relationship between healthcare providers and patients through innovative digital health solutions. As an Intermediate UI/UX Designer, you will help strengthen the quality, consistency, and usability of our products by working closely with our Product Designer and Product Owners.
Our Product Owners play an active role in product solutioning and UX definition, from shaping workflows to creating early prototypes. In this role, you will complement their work by bringing strong UI/UX craft, helping refine product designs, and translating our design system strategy into well-designed, reusable components and clear documentation.
You will also play an important role in the day-to-day evolution and maintenance of our Figma design system, working with the Product Designer to turn design system priorities into practical improvements that can be adopted across our product teams.
Responsibilities
Design, build, document, and maintain reusable components, patterns, and variants within our Figma design system.
Collaborate closely with the Product Designer to execute the design system strategy, including component improvements, new patterns, accessibility standards, and prioritized system updates.
Support Product Owners throughout feature definition, by reviewing requirements and early prototypes. Provide design documentation based on those requirements.
Translate feature designs into clear and detailed UI specifications in Figma, including relevant states, interactions, responsive behaviours, component usage, and accessibility considerations.
Work with Product Owners to ensure designs provide sufficient clarity for development, while Product Owners remain accountable for overall requirements, workflows, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and development handoff.
Participate in product design reviews and critiques, providing thoughtful and actionable feedback on usability, interaction design, visual design, accessibility, and design system consistency.
Partner with front-end developers early in the design process to validate component feasibility before finalizing their design in Figma.
Participate selectively in UAT and implementation reviews to assess whether developed experiences are consistent with approved designs and intended interactions.
Support micro- and component-level UX exploration, research and testing in collaboration with the Product Designer when needed.
Contribute to UI copy and content design where appropriate, helping improve the clarity and consistency of labels, messages, empty states, errors, and other interface content.
Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, the Product Designer, developers, and other cross-functional partners in a fast-moving product development environment.
3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX, product design, interaction design, or a related discipline, ideally working on complex digital products.
Strong proficiency with Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, libraries, prototyping, and design system workflows.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining reusable UI components and contributing to a design system.
Strong UI design skills, with excellent attention to detail and a solid understanding of usability principles.
Ability to take early-stage wireframes or prototypes and develop them into polished, coherent, implementation-ready designs without losing sight of the original product intent.
Good understanding of accessibility principles and the ability to apply established accessibility standards to components and product interfaces.
Experience documenting design components, behaviours, states, and usage guidance in a way that can be understood and reused by designers and non-designers.
Comfortable providing constructive design feedback and collaborating with colleagues who have varying levels of design expertise.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and trade-offs clearly.
Organized and able to balance design system work with support for multiple concurrent product initiatives.
Curious, pragmatic, detail-oriented, and motivated by continuously improving both individual product experiences and the systems used to create them.
Assets
Experience designing healthcare technology, electronic medical records (EMRs), clinical workflows, or other complex or regulated software products.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment alongside Product Owners and development teams.
Experience conducting or supporting usability testing, particularly at the interaction, pattern, or component level.
Strong UX writing instincts and interest in helping define content guidelines.
Bilingual FR/EN.
