Job Description

This role requires a 4:30 am start

About the Role
As a Transport Allocator, you’ll be at the centre of our daily operations—coordinating drivers, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring customers receive accurate and timely updates. You’ll work closely with the Transport Coordinator and drivers to plan, adjust, and optimise delivery runs throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate daily jobs to drivers and manage run sheets and delivery documentation
  • Monitor driver progress and proactively plan upcoming deliveries
  • Communicate with drivers via two-way radio to ensure seamless job transitions
  • Track delivery status and ensure customers are kept informed of any delays
  • Maintain accurate records of container movements, including returns and dehires
  • Manage and update daily operational spreadsheets and reports
  • Ensure compliance with driver fatigue regulations, legal weight limits, and safety requirements
  • Identify and manage any dangerous goods consignments in line with legal standards

Qualifications

About You

  • 3+ years experience in transport, logistics, or Fleet coordination across wharf and container operations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with drivers and customers effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Comfortable using systems and spreadsheets to manage real-time data
